I fell into the wonderful world of film after watching Tim Burton's "Batman" back in 1989 at the ripe old age of 5. From there, I began writing an assortment of short stories, screenplays and teleplays. I attended York University in Toronto, Canada, graduated from its screenwriting program and have since written a number of spec scripts and am currently working on a pilot for a television series. My opinions of certain films have been known to frustrate many, which is what I love most about film- its ability to create heavy debate.
I'm not quite sure if this has become big news just yet, but according to Empire Magazine, Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Hobbit has changed a little bit. Instead of having the first film in 2011 tell the tale of The Hobbit and a second film in 2012 connect The Hobbit with The Fellowship of the Ring, Del Toro and Jackson have announced that The Hobbit will be split into two films.
Great idea, if you ask me. I wasn't really sold on having new tale bring us into the world of Fellowship, regardless if it was taken straight out of the appendices or not.
