Back in 2001 I visited LA and got a private tour of the Universal backlot. One of the highlights of that trip for me was standing on the steps of the clocktower from Back to the Future (man I wish I could find those pictures). That trilogy is unique for me in a couple of ways - first off, it's one of the blockbuster film series that completely holds up, mostly because it has tons of heart. Secondly, it's the only film series where one of the movies which I hated - Back to the Future III - has grown on me to such an extent that it may be my favorite of the trilogy (please note not best but favorite. And note may be).
A couple weeks back we brought you info about a new documentary about Jaws. This week I'm proud to bring you a Back to the Future documentary in production, Looking Back at the Future. The BTTF DVD set finally released a couple years back was nice, but it feels a little incomplete at times, so I am hoping this will be the definitive document of the history of this unique franchise. And I really hope it has more on the infamous Eric Stoltz phase of the first film's production. Stoltz, do interviews about this!
