A STOOGE'S CHANCE

The Brothers Farrelly have been long pursuing a dream project: a Three Stooges movie. But they're having a very hard time. "We're still trying to make The Stooges happen," Peter Farrelly tells IGN FilmForce. "I'll be honest with you, it's been very, very difficult to get that thing made. It's been crazy.
"It's kind of funny because every actor wants to do the movie," he continues. "Benicio Del Toro wanted to play Moe. We've had a lot people talk to us about that movie. And everybody we've talked to has been really interested in the movie. So, it's not a hard movie to cast. It's just that the studios just don't know it it will fly. They just don't know if it will work, and they don't quite get that. They don't get that this is going to be effective."
Of course considering the Farrelly Bros diminishing returns on films like Fever Pitch, it's hard to blame the studios for being nervous. And while it's nice to see people going for their dreams, it's hard to imagine a Three Stooges film being able to actually capture what made the original shorts so funny. Unless they adapt that cartoon where the Stooges were bionic and lived in a junk yard. That would be awesome.
