Tim Robbins has signed on to appear in Warner Bros' big screen Green Lantern, but he won't be taking center stage; the actor will be playing the father of the bad guy.Robbins will be Senator Hammond, parental figure for Hector Hammond, who will be played by Peter Sarsgaard. Hector Hammond is going to come into contact with an alien meteor and develop all sorts of psychic powers with which to battle Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern. Senator Hammond is a minor role, apparently, so don't expect a whole ton of screen time for Robbins.
Green Lantern starts shooting in March in New Orleans.

Whenever a father for Sarsgaard is needed, Malkovich is the only way to go. Though I suppose he is implausibly creepy for a Senator.

One question: Will Mr. Robbins be digging his way out of somewhere in this one? The man has set a precedent and I only wish to have my film-viewing experience enhanced with the knowledge that the good Senator, upon having been trapped somewhere, will have to DIG for FREEDOM!! That is all. {Sorry, had to do it; totally watching this}

This movie just keeps getting better. Now all we need is a camio by William H. Macy and we are set.

Now all we need to do is learn how to spell "cameo" and we are set. I hate Green Lantern and always have. "I'm going to smash you with a giant hammer... green, glowing hammer... that emanates... from... my ring?" The only thing keeping me interested is the director.

Isn't Robbins also playing Tony Stark's pop in Iron Man 2 flashbacks?

Green Lantern makes Superman seem interesting by comparison. A super hero who has a magic space ring? Really? Did someone already snatch up the magic necklace superhero? How bout magic cufflinks? Anyone who finds this crap remotely interesting better be 10 and under and even then you're fucking tools!
