ADAM GREEN CRACKS OPEN A HATCHET SEQUEL

Mr. Rotten over at Shock Till You Drop just dropped the exclusive news that Adam Green has started pre-production on a sequel to Hatchet, his incredibly hyped and ultimately incredibly disappointing slasher film. Check out my review here, salvaged from the Creature Corner archives, for my thoughts."It's finally happening," Green enthused. "It's going to have double the body count and Anchor Bay is being cool enough to allow me to make the sequel I want to make."
That's a good sign, as the gore was the best part of the first. They're planning on doing the effects all practical once again, and hopefully he can expand the story a bit and take it out of the slasher-film quagmire that the first wallowed in. Green also confirmed that Kane Hodder will be returning to play his usual voiceless hulking role of Victor Crowley, the forgettable Elephant Man-looking killer from the first film.
Head over to Shock for the full report.

Man, even at a 6 out of 10 you were generous to the first one. It was such trash. Based on Jackchop alone, though, I will give this guy a second go around. Now for the love of god disable these comments. It makes the site seem so budget.

Wow, double the body count. Way to step up your game, Adam Green. Maybe work on other things as well, like maybe having your movie not be another corny rehash of 80s slashers.

Hatchet was terrible.

If there are amusing kills and another Tony Todd cameo, I'll watch it.

Oh, what a surprise, the website that hates everything hated this one as well.

"Way to step up your game Adam Green."?? Since '06 he made Hatchet, Spiral (which was fucking genius), produced Grace (which was in Sundance and won awards left and right) and has Frozen coming out in theaters this Feb. Now H2 is in production. That's like 5 movies in 3 years. I'd say the guy is doing great. And Hatchet rules. Hate all you want- it was so successful they are making a second one. Suck on that one haters. Why don't you step up your games and get out from behind your Mom's computer screen? CHUD. Puh-lease!

"And Hatchet rules. Hate all you want- it was so successful they are making a second one." LOL.
Hatchet was just a hair worse than Leslie Vernon.

What the hell is up with the Hatchet hate? That movie was hilarious, gory, and a fun as hell 80 minutes to spend with buddies and some cold beer. I suppose if you expect nothing but scares and suspense you'll walk away disappointed but come on. Bring on the sequel.

Hatcher was OK. Some amusing banter, some good kills, but that was that. A sequel isn't that offensive of an idea.

Hatchet was funny and brilliant. Everyone who hates it needs to get back in line for New Moon.

If you thought Hatchet was "funny" or "brilliant" then you are probably what Chris Rock describes as a 'low expectation havin' muthfuka'
I hate the Twilight series but would prefer to watch new Moon over the steaming pile ineptness that was Hatchet.

Hatchet was 100 times better than that piece of shit Trick r Treat movie this site was whoring.

Hatchet had some memorable lines, like "I'd rather skin my dick" and some memorable scenes such as the villain puking or bleeding all over the hero. Would go back for a sequel
