IS THIS JJ ABRAMS' VERSION OF THE GORN?

Is that... the Gorn? TrekMovie.com has a clip from one of the behind the scenes featurettes on the Star Trek reboot DVD, and it includes images of aliens that never made it into the film. These were creatures to be seen in the background at the Klingon prison where Nero was held, a sequence that was excised.
The site says that the above picture is a reboot Gorn; there's also a salt vampire in the clip. I like the vampire, but the Gorn... c'mon! If it ain't broke, don't fix the man in suit. I like the simplicity of the original Gorn design, and if the Gorn do really show up in a future reboot Trek film, I hope they go closer to that classic, cheezy look.

Exhibit 109110891 as to why the internet movie geeks have no fucking clue as to what's acceptable to the general public in the 21st century.

Yes, they should make their expensive blockbuster look like a cheap piece of shit. Come on Devin, get your fat head out of your fatter ass.

It's like Devin has nostalgia for the old, cheesy design. But of course that can't be true. He wouldn't base his likes and dislikes based on blind nostalgia from childhood favorites because he's already said how stupid that is!

The Gorn was awesome and I hope they make an appearance in a sequel. But they have to do some sort of update. That mask seems like a cool compromise.

that Gorn from Enterprise looks terrible

Will this new Gorn suddenly get savaged by a bigger Gorn appearing out of nowhere, allowing Kirk to scuttle away into a cave?

At least the suit looks like its mouth would work. Combination of suit/CG would be the best way to go.

The original Gorn used to give me nightmares. Not just that it would kill and eat me, but also rape me. Then after a while, I'd get turned on by the Gorn-rape. So now I masturbate furiously to that Trek episode - too bad Shatner gets in the way.

The original Gorn looks awesome. I can see why this new Gorn wasn't in the movie: he looks like shit.

I just want to know who that Gorn's tailor is.
