Atlantic Records released details of the Avatar soundtrack album, and hidden amongst the info was this gem:
"Avatar: Music From the Motion Picture" will be highlighted by the film's end title song, "I See You," performed by multiple Grammy Award-nominated singer Leona Lewis, and produced by James Horner and Simon Franglen, the team behind Titanic's blockbuster theme song, "My Heart Will Go On." A companion video -- directed by Jake Nava -- is currently in production.
First up: was Jake Nava hired for his name?
Second up: Leona Lewis is a winner of the British talent show X-Factor, and she's a warbly pop singer in the modern mold.
Third up: Wait, Avatar is this kind of movie? Of all the things I've thought Avatar might be, I never imagined it to be a weird mash up of Aliens and Titanic.
For those interested, Leona Lewis with her hit single Bleeding Love.

Wow. It has a cheesy song attached. This must be SOOOOO much like Titanic.

Well, at least it's not "Faith of the Heart." (puke smiley)

Actually, a mash-up of Titanic and Aliens is EXACTLY what the movie is being advertised as.

I'm disappointed that "Bleeding Love" is not the ode to menses-slathered intercourse that I was hoping for.

That's gaytarded. The Thundersmurfs are dopey enough without a Top 40 love song playing behind them about their hearts and shit. You know, how cool would it have been if Cameron had decided to do a Philip K. Dick adaptation that was this expensive instead of Dancing with Blue Maori?

Makes sense. This movie looks awesome. I love how photorealistic all the effects look.

Leona Lewis is getting a lot of attention from high-profile media efforts these days. They announced she's doing a song for Final Fantasy XIII too.
Can't say I'm surprised that Avatar's going to have a schmaltzy love-song attached to it. Though it might mean I won't sit through the credits like I normally do.

Great move really. Over the end credits a lyrical song won't interfere or be out of place within the film itself, plus it will no doubt be played over all the video music channels which is a great way to promote the movie.
Most people don't hang around to watch the credits anyhow.
Excellent move.

James Cameron. The only man able to make internet nerds come to the defense of corny pop ballads. Tell me, how does it feel being so blindly devoted to a commercial product?

Never doubt Devin Faraci's ability to rabidly trash anything that's even remotely related to the production of Avatar. Damn.
I love that song, by the way. Can't wait to see what she produces for this film. Unfortunately, Devin is making wild accusations without any evidence. Maybe they actually liked her tone and lyrics? Nahhh. Devin's thinking: Avatar = BADDDDD

when even a song choice for the END CREDIT of the film get trashed, you know the guy is biased beyond hope. the way devin trashes avatar day in and day out, i can only assume cameron rejected him when devin offered to cuddle his balls. SEE the film first in its entirety, then you wont look like an idiot when you trash it.

Im absolutely shocked and suprised that such highly regarded website posts suich juvenile and biased articles. Many websites have terrific writeups, well worded and backed up with quotes, good arguments and some tips from filmaking. It is absolutely shockking to see such thing, which is basically a jealousy filled, venomous, juvenile and inconsiderate weak write up on a major site like this

How about Devin DOESN'T write about Avatar from now on? I'd like to read an article without snide remarks or 'LOL WITTY HEADLINEZ'
