I'm not sure how Extraordinary Measures escaped being a movie on Lifetime or Oxygen (where it also would have starred Brendan Fraser), but it's a real theatrical film with a real theatrical trailer. In the film Fraser's kids are dying of some weepy disease or other and there's no hope... except for the wacky scientist played by Harrison Ford in full grumpy old man mode.

This movie looks pretty rotten, but I could almost be convinced to see it based on this line of dialogue alone: "His science is way ahead of everybody else's."
