When The Expendables comes out, will the credits read "Casting director: The Internet"? It seems likely, now that Sylvester Stallone is coming out and apologizing for not getting the actors that The Internet wanted for his new movie. Case in point: Sly's failure to secure Kurt Russell in the movie.

Writing to Stallone Zone, the #1 Sylvester Stallone fansite from here to Bayonne, Sly says:

I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too.  Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent.  Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time.

So, People, I came, I saw, I failed.

There's a not so subtle tone of butt-hurtedness in that missive which I quite like.

But the good news, people, is that a Tango & Cash 2 wouldn't be 'ensemble acting.' That would be just co-leads. Keep hope alive.
