Now that Kevin Smith has dropped Green Hornet, and since he'll probably finish the ill-conceived The Passion of the Clerks in about a month and change, he's looking forward to other projects that have been in the hopper, like Fletch Won, the prequel to Chevy Chase's Fletch.
Jason Lee had long been attached to the title role, but it seems like his star is now too dim - Kevin Smith has been posting on his website (instead of finishing the Marvel Comics he started) hints that Zach Braff will take the part.
Braff's Garden State won best first feature at this past weekend's Independent Spirit Awards, and his NBC sitcom Scrubs is soon going to have its first season collected on DVD. This summer he lends his voice to the title character in Chicken Little - this is Braff's moment in the sun, and he would represent a hip choice for Fletch. The kind of hip choice Jason Lee was about two years ago.
