EL PRIMER POSTER DEL CORALINE

Like Devin, I have no experience with Neil Gaiman's Coraline. However, the fellas over at Cineblog do apparently, as they've posted the first look at the one-sheet for Henry Selick's upcoming 3D adaptation. The film is being shot stereroscopically (yeah, I had to look that one up too) and tells the story of a little girl who discovers a door in her new home that leads to a parallel, fantastical world. Henry Selick and Mike Cachuela are giving the story Selick's distinctive stop-motion look, bolstered by the steroscopy thing. It stars Dakota Fanning, hoping for any gig that Abigail Breslin doesn't snatch away from her, as Coraline, Teri Hatcher as her mother, and John Hodgman, Ian McShane, Keith David and Jennifer Saunders.
It's being distributed by Focus Features and premiere February 6, 2009.
Thanks to Rui for the tip.

You review movies (or, in your personal case, shitty tv shows that no one else wants to review) for a living, and you had to look up "stereroscopically"? Wow, you never cease to impress, do you?

Hey Smug/unknownuser, Oliver doesn't come to your drive through window and hassle you for forgetting to 'Dipisize' his meal, so how about you ease up on him here at his place of work?

In order to retain any sort of geekcred you need to do what you do it is mandatory you go read Neil Gaiman. I'd start with Coraline just to see what you have in store for you next year and work back through the novels until you can find it in you to read The Sandman. Since you don't know what this movie is whatsoever allow me to elaborate: Next Stop Motion Classic. Creepy and Surreal this is the PERFECT medium for this story. READ! YOU TOO DEVIN!

Nah, don't rush out to read any Gaiman. He's massively over-rated (TERRIBLE characterisation) and repetitive. Emo Fans love the fuck out of him which is warning enough. You should know what "Stereoscopically" means though - it's how your eyes fucking work to create depth perception. Here's another to look up: "Persistence of Vision" - very important to how movies etc work.
