FIRST REAL LOOK AT THE STAR TREK BABIES!

I've been chuckling over the look on Spock's face for a little while now. There are two things wrong with Spock on the cover of Entertainment Weekly: his expression is one of confusion, as opposed to that classical one-raised-eyebrow thing, and his haircut makes him look like he's home schooled. It's such a subtle thing, but the way that his bangs are cut gives Zachary Quinto a real Dumb & Dumber look. Compare it with photos of Spock from the original series.Chris Pine just looks handsome. And a little blank.
This issue of EW will hit mailboxes on Friday, and it's probably got more photos on the inside - finally the goods I've been waiting for! I'm sure we'll get lots of dissection of the costumes (which are the same, but a little changed, as you can tell from the collar on Spock's tunic) and sets. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep imagining Spock making the most annoying sound in the world....

You are the epitome of a fat nerd. Please stop being a hypocrite. You're just projecting your own self-loathing and I don't blame you. It's sad.

My comment was originally only about the picture, but it certainly applys to the douchenozzle about me as well. ☺

"Next summer's blockbuster"? Is that a reference to this prequel? Har, har, somehow I doubt its validity. Next summer's "Speed Racer" is more probable...

It looks like Eli Roth met a new boyfriend at a Star Trek convention. I can actually kinda see another actor playing Spock, since Spock is a character Nimoy created, but how do you play Kirk without doing a Shatner impersonation? You don't. It's Kirk in Name Only. KINO!

This is the type of Cosplay-Twink fantasy Devin probably faps to on a nightly basis!

I think Spock looks sad :( Why is Spock about to cry?
Comment #8 (Posted by FWOOOSH! ....flaming!)
Devin is only excited about this film because he knows his dream of an all gay version of Star Trek has finally been realized. This picture is the first proof of that.

Spock has an emogirl haircut.

Why did you bring back talkbacks?
So people will hit the same article several times to read the responses and be inundated again and again with intrusive and incredibly irritating advertisements for various horrible movies. Devin needs more money to finish his summer home inside Seth Rogen's ass.

I hope you guys are happy about bringing back Talkbacks. Oh look, they're as bad as they were last time.....

I can see why Abrams has been keeping everything about this movie "in the closet". Who knew Spock and Kirk were gay? I mean it defies logic, and that must be why Spock is so fuckin confused, because he can't wrap his Vulcan mind around the concept. I guess when that Polar Bear appeared in front of him ridden by Tom Cruise who was wearing a Slusho shirt holding the recently chopped off penis of Jennifer Garner.... it all started to make sense. Then he watched an episode of Fringe and realized that Abrams had actually cast Joshua Jackson in a major acting role and he knew that the ship he was on was sinking.... or at least being drawn into Borg's flying Rubicks Cube to be mercifully assimilated once and for all.

Is this a poster for a Judd Apatow comedy about gay alien lovers? Sorry, this isn't a good sale for a film that's already got a lot going against it.

Devin is just made that his site didn't get one of the exclusive Star Trek pics they released today. All of which look a zillion times better than that cover, btw.

The CHUD Talkbacks: a safe haven for gay jokes and cheap shots at a guy who is giving out free information. SO classy.

Devin, home-schooled vulcan is still cooler than overweight non-entity. Spock wins.

oh cool! gaytrek!

YAY! The Chud Men are back, baby!

I saw a better pic of Spock at AICN today, and the makeup looked a bit better (he's choking Kirk). Pine is definitely channeling Shatner, though (dude's rockin' quite the forehead though). We need some decent pics of Pegg as Scotty, damnit!
I'm still cautiously optimistic about this flick. From what little I've seen/read, it looks like they're heading in the right direction, but there's still quite a bit of room for this to be a real mess. Hopefully, Abrams has brought his A-game to this.

While I generally disagree with much of the propaganda on this site and have not enjoyed the change from Fanboy to "Critic," I think the Talkbacks are PERFECT! Why? Because once you get past the gay-bashing, hateful stuff (which, quite frankly, is the hallmark of all manner of talkbacks and chatrooms) ... you can get some serious comments from others that may enable you to get past the sometimes elitist views of many of the writers. Regardless of whether or not I still wish this would go back to a fun site as opposed to what it is now, the talkbacks are what keep me looking at the page. And I do think the comments get a little personal ... how many of you bashing this Devin fellow actually know him? While I disagree with many of his cinematic views ... they are "views" and do not give me any insite into who he really is. He could be a fantastic guy for all I know, despite his opinions, so why the fuck do a lot of you attack him on a personal level? Anyway, I'll climb off the soapbox ... it just seems a bit childish. And for those of you that are not interested in the Talkbacks, feel free to read the story you want to read and please pay attention to the section clearly marked "Comments" ... this is the signal for you to look for a new story. No one is making you read the Talkback section, and it would be a shame if you were too stupid to realize that you could skip them. Instead, you prefer this Devin fellow to remove them for you. Shame. It is also a shame I cannot mention my favorite Satellite Radio Show here any more ... sniff ... sniff ....

I've always said that the key to getting Star Trek back on track was to get Spock and Kirk to touch nipples in a promo shot. The only piece left is to get Scotty and Sulu to rub bellybuttons in a one sheet and hey presto! Abrams weaves his box office magic again.

Classical is not a synonym for classic. Otherwise, yeah, Dumb & Dumber is the first thing I thought of too. And Kirk looks like he should have been on the WB ten years ago.

@ #22:
IMO I think there are some valuable comments here too, and it's an easier way to find them than to hunt through the forums.
From the comments I saw last time round with the talkbacks, I don't think most people want to just get rid of them completely -- it should be easy enough to add a username/password box on the talkback entry form so that only registered forum users can comment.
Once registered, it would be no harder/slower to comment than it is now, but would have the advantage that moderators could ban idiots who just spam things up.
Last I heard, CHUD were still trying to find reliable programmers to make all the changes they wanted, to this and other areas. Here's hoping...

Got to love people defending Devin from cheap shots and insults on the Talkbacks. You do realize that cheap shots and insults are pretty much all he's brought to the message boards for the last five years or so? Talkbacks are just a place where people can respond in kind without having to wade through navel-gazing Chud political bullshit.

You can see all of the photos (including the rest of the cast) from this article over on EW's website (www.ew.com)

It looks like they've either just been caught rubbing man boobs together or they're making sure the coast is clear before the rub their man nipples together.

Why are there so many limpwristed pussies from the forums complaining about the talkbacks? If you ladies can't handle the talkbacks don't read them. Whatever you do quit acting like little bitches and butch the fuck up!

wait.........that's supposed to be Kirk? well as a non-fan i guess i could care less anyways, since us non-fans will avoid the movie like the plague and cause this re-boot to sink.
