Other than legally being able to copulate with Michelle Pfeiffer, the most charmed element of David E. Kelley's life has been that, when the chips are down, he's had the ability to deliver a legal drama which, despite the glut of such shows, (many of which he's responsible for), could still be entertaining and successful.  L.A. Law, Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal.  His track record is unimpeachable in that area.

Kelley has branched out in other genres of shows with Picket Fences, Boston Public and Chicago Hope of course, but for the most part, he's been the go-to guy for legal dramas.  So at this stage of his phenomenally successful career, it's good to see him trying something brand new with a...nother...legal...drama.  Oh.

Variety reports that Kelley has inked a deal for an as-yet-untitled new legal drama, his first on the Peacock network since L.A. Law.  The new show is reportedly to center around a father and daughter who are both lawyers.  I've liked many of Kelley's shows and have watched them for years.  But it would be nice to see semething completely different, like his new drama, Life On Mars.  I just don't think I have another Kelley legal drama left in me.  And considering the ridiculous turnover of cast on his shows, especially Boston Legal, it remains to see if his actors will either.
