QUANTUM OF CHIT CHAT

I see Quantum of Solace on Saturday in preparation for interviews on Sunday. I'm excited to see the film, but also concerned. The movie clocks in at about an hour and forty minutes, making it the shortest Bond film by far, and judging by the sizzle reel I was shown in London a couple of weeks back, it's jam-packed with action. There were a dizzying number of chases, fights and explosions in that footage, much of it taking place on different continents and with different opponents. What I liked about Casino Royale was how much time it spent on the characters; with this much action and this short a running time, can Quantum of Solace do the same?As if to allay these fears, two new talky clips from the film have shown up online. Both not only feature Bond having meaningful chats, they both also play up the tight continuity between this film and the last one (Solace begins right after the conclusion of Casino Royale). First up is Bond and M talking about vengeance. You can see that clip right here.
Taking place after that scene (which has an awesome resolution, if what I pieced together from the sizzle reel is correct), Bond finds himself in some trouble with MI6 and looking to double agent Mathis for some help. You can see that clip here.

Quantum of Solace's direct ties to Casino Royale and its running time to set piece ratio make me think the movie is going to have less of an arc of its own and feel more like an extended punchy third act to CR. I don't know whether or not that's good yet.
Also Devin is fat and sucks cocks, etc.

Hey Dev, remember in one of your... I think...50 anti-Dark Knight article you wrote, you wrote how confused you were as to why the public would want to see ANOTHER Batman film? Well bitch, I could ask you why you and plenty of others are still creaming their Buck Rogers boxer shorts over a new Bond movie. Yeah, these new ones have SO much character development. These are the same PG-13, product placement ads with gadgets and violence movies. They're almost all alike aside from the occasional lead actor change. The producers must REALLY be greasing those sweaty armpit flaps of yours to be getting such praise!

"I see Quantum of Solace on Saturday in preparation for interviews on Sunday. I'm excited to see the film, but also concerned." If you ever want to chat about, say, real-life concerns, hit me up. Maybe we can live vicariously through each other.

You get upset because someone doesn't praise a movie about a man who dresses up in a bat costume? Grow some balls you girlguide!
