MIIKE PILES ON THE SCHOOLGIRLS

I love when Takashi Miike throws all pretense to the wind and makes a childishly ridiculous movie. Granted, these movies often have their own flaws, like the running time of both The Great Yokai War and Zebraman, but I chalk those both up to Miike being too enamored of the material to cut anything. I can picture him just giggling hysterically while editing both of those movies, and imagining Miike giggling is not an easy thing to do.
I get the same sense out of this second teaser for Yatterman, which adapts the Japanese animated show that ran from 1977 to 1979. The show featured a giant dog robot in addition to many other animal-shaped mecha and accident-prone villains. Miike's primary unit finished filming in May of this year, but loads of post-production is ongoing, and the planned Japanese release is May 2009.
One brief teaser was released not long ago and now a second has followed suit, in which we see very little but a great pile of Japanese schoolgirls. What does this mean? I have no idea, but I've watched it six times. (To see a glimpse of the dog robot, check out the first teaser.) Head to the official site to see two teasers, as pointed out by Twitch.

Russ you were not kidding about the great pile of the nubile young'ns but the great red mech dog head is really cool as well. Boll and Miike are both wonders of funding, plot, and interest. Although only one has used Tara Reid.

Hi, I am from Japan. In that scene, the school girls really means nothing.
In the anime show, one of the villians, Boyacky, his character is like a dirty old dude who only like cute young Japanese high school girls. So, that scene is about Boyacky and obviously that is his hand pushing the button (in Japanese, *Bochitona*)

"Boll and Miike are both wonders of funding, plot, and interest. Although only one has used Tara Reid. "...................................... you should be shot for comparing the two directors in any way, shape or form. Miike gets movies made because one of of every five or six films is damn near a masterpiece, while Boll has yet to make anything even remotely watchable.

I can only hope Kijen was kidding when comparing Takashi Miike to the excrable Boll.
Opinions are all well and good. But some things are just plain wrong.
