Our friends over at ABC really want you to check out their new series, Life On Mars, so much so that they're wasting no time streaming the premiere episode on the web. Based on the British show of the same name, Life On Mars deals with New York detective Sam Tyler (Jason O'Mara), who's struck by a car and inexplicably wakes up in the 1973 version of the Big Apple. He knows that something's screwy - most likely with him - but try as he might, he can't seem to wake up from his polyester and transistor radio nightmare. Although there are clues and theories bandied about, the circumstances of his (quantum) leap back in time remain one of several mysteries to be explored on the show.
I caught this myself last week and liked what I saw. It did what Journeyman should have done without ripping off Dr. Samuel Beckett, Al and Ziggy so blatantly. Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol co-star.

They should have kept Colm Meaney. Give the guy a chance instead of veteran Keitel. This show won't last no matter who the lead is though.

As long as this is better than Ashes to Ashes I'm sold.

This show's not entirely bad. Had great music, and the premise is neat (I've wanted to see the original for a while, but had no opportunity to check it out, yet). The lead's not bad. Keitel's a God to me, and the blonde 70's cop broad is hot.

Still doesn't hold a candle to the original British series. They just don't have their finger on the pulse. It's like reciting lines in a language other than your own and not understanding its meaning.

Keitel as bad ass cop in 1970s. Christopher Moltosanti with a big fucking moustache. This in itself is enough to guarantee my involvement.
