Nick Nunziata created this place and spends every day trying to figure out if that's a good thing or not. In addition to his intermittent contributions here, he is the producer of a few upcoming films, a myriad of comics, and the co-writer on Steve Alten's upcoming novel Grim Reaper, based on the screenplay by the pair.

Gort's got a nice looking teaser at least.

THE DAY THE POSTER STOOD GREAT
I have as much use for a remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still [recent Devin article on the teaser] as Rod Steiger has for CPR, but I have to admit that the second teaser poster to surface for the film gives me nostalgic warm feelings in all the areas that have use for them. If Gort of the remake looks like this (IE: Gort from the original), a lot of the blandness I've seen in the trailer can be pushed aside for the time being.

Then again, the robot in Lost in Space was respectful to the original show and that film was worse than polio.

So, for now enjoy a neat little retro glimpse of Gort firing his amazing beam down at the Earth and imagine a world where a film like this could come out and serve at the very worst as a companion piece to the original and if everything clicks be a film of individual merit like The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, or even War of the Worlds.

Yes, War of the Worlds is good. Deal with it.
