Nick Nunziata
Nick Nunziata created this place and spends every day trying to figure out if that's a good thing or not. In addition to his intermittent contributions here, he is the producer of a few upcoming films, a myriad of comics, and the co-writer on Steve Alten's upcoming novel Grim Reaper, based on the screenplay by the pair.

Nick thinks DC's heroes don't deserve their screen time.

STEADY LEAK: JUST DESSERTS FOR DC HEROES
Iron Man is deservedly kicking the ass of turnstiles despite being derived from a comic book that the general public was mostly unaware of. Now DC has sour grapes. Awwwwww. They cite Marvel's recently created studio and the lack of levels to get through with their parent company as reasons they haven't been able to keep up. That's certainly part of the problem, no doubt. Another problem is that aside from Batman and Superman [who they dropped the ball with with], DC's heroes are lame and considerably more fit for the page than the screen.

The Green Lantern? Aquaman? Wonder Woman? Green Arrow? Warlord?

I'll give them The Flash and unlimited love for Batman and his associated subcharacters. I'll even grant them Superman despite my disinterest in the character but the fact remains that DC Comics and their stable of 'properties' are nowhere near as cinematic as Marvel's. I used to collect and read all of their stuff in the 70's and 80's and my bias is based on experience rather than knee-jerk reaction and I probably have more reasons to hate Marvel than any publisher but when your stable includes Captain American, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, and even lesser characters like Ant Man and the peripheral Avenger and X-Men characters it's not even close.

OK, Aquaman stomps Namor every day of the week because a Vulcan with winged feet isn't even as cool as a skinny mop-headed boy on a pink Huffy.

DC should enjoy the few franchise opportunities it has for the big screen and be glad they have them. Marvel's reign isn't going to last forever [only until they stop giving real filmmakers like Ang Lee, Sam Raimi, Jon Favreau the keys to the kingdom], and we will eventually tire of the same ol'...

Guess what isn't the cure?

The Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Green Arrow.

If The Avengers works, and I doubt it will... you can have your damn Justice League movie. Until then, shut the fuck up.
