Good Day!Every Monday - Friday I'll be syndicating a page from one of several comic books I've been working on for the past year as CHUD's redesign came together [yeah, still working on that] in an effort to make the site also be a haven for creative stuff that's not just us talking about movies and stuff but a place to share new stuff that lives its own life. Stuff like my [hated] comic strip. Stuff like CHUDstories [anyone want to spearhead that?]. Stuff like the Podcast [which will be available to listen to directly off the site next week]. Stuff like some upcoming things we'll be working on.
And stuff like these comic books, which will run on CHUD.com for the duration of their lives [and hopefully see print sooner than later]. You'll be seeing the comic books PAIN, The Crawl, The Bridger Adventures, This Hollow World, and possibly a few others.
Today, we feature The Bridger Adventures, written by myself and Steve Murphy, drawn and lettered by Matt Kimble, with layout by Simon O. Wright. I'm going to treat this like the Sid & Marty Krofft and alternate between titles each day to showcase the variety and allow the storylines to unfold at their own pace. I really hope you like 'em. Also, I have hundreds of these pages done so don't be worried that this will disappear.

Is Owen in the duffle bag? I actually like this one. Not bad.

Are you sure you're not posting these pages out of order? We started on a boat, flashed-back to a prison for one panel, jumped to a historical anecdote, then back to the boat and NOW we get an introduction to the main character? This is a very odd and confusing structure.

Wow, nick... how can one man have so much ambition, yet so little talent?

Are you sure this isn't titled "The Big Heist"? With all the flash backs, forward, and sideways? Sorry to repeat a comment, but Vagina Face seems to have noticed the same thing and it's similarity to Funny Farm is just funny to me. Is your wife writing a children's book by any chance? I admire your efforts, but c'mon you gotta admit, it's kind of funny!

Reminded me of that line from Funny Farm as well! And please stop using that checker pattern in the comic. Photoshop has a proper half-tone filter for crissake.

I seem to be among a minority that like these little asides into your comic ventures... just one constructive criticism: maybe you could link to each story's previous pages, so that the narrative could be followed better? That's really my only complaint.

These comics have changed my life. From now on, I'm going to read 5 books at a time, one page at a time. And I'm going to watch multiple movies simultaneously in tiny little segments. It does wonders for building a narrative, suspense and....what's it's called? Oh yeah. Interest.

"I'm going to treat this like the Sid & Marty Krofft and alternate between titles each day to showcase the variety and allow the storylines to unfold at their own pace."
That sentence drives me insane. In what world is the pace of a comic book meant to be reading a page every 3 days?

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and, dog gone it, people like me!

If this thing ever gets published by a reputable publishing house, I'll snip off my nipples and feed them to my three year old.
