THE ONION IS WORRIED ABOUT IRON MAN

If you came here looking for more clips from the only movie that has more embedded media this year than Speed Racer, you came to the wrong place. (The right place, improbably, is LG's Inside The Suit mini-site, which will deliver several scenes from the film as well as a behind the scenes bit on creating the suit after you enter the code LG99.)
But if you're worried about the film living up to expectations created by all the media released since Paramount opened the marketing floodgates, you're not alone. The Onion doubts that the original trailer campaign could ever lead to a satisfying feature film, and presents those doubts oh, so eloquently.

Is there anything you guys won't post about this movie? How will the ticket to Iron Man look when it's printed at the theater? Got a scoop about that?

I've said it b4 and I'll say it again - cult status does not = talent. Jon Fav is a pretty lame director and I have little faith he can deliver. If the early reviews are any indication he delivers a competent movie that is still fundamentally flawed. From what everyone says all of the action sequences are shown in the trailers. Robert Downey Jr. is charming as Tony Stark however not the action is just not fleshed out enough. Oh yeah, and they are going w/ the stupid as shit mandarin plot line(when mandarin collects 5 rings he can summon the dragon FING FANG FOOM!!!) Jeff Bridges character is a Manderin underling. uhk - I'm so sick of Marvel movies skimming us on the villian!

How is cocksure not a taboo word? And why didn't I use it in every high school paper I ever wrote?

Is Chud this stupid. Why do you think they have marketed the shit out of the movie. It's Iron Man not Spider-Man. The way to get people into theatres is marketing, and if you want to cause a major impact with a semi known character then you market the shit out of them so it doesn't seem like a b grade movie but a big budget movie that people might want to go see. If the dudes behind Chud were in charge of a major stuido, it would fold within a year.

Yeah, screw all you butthurt iron man fans. And I'll tell you something else - SWINGERS NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO CHUDS LIST OF YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG!!! Jon Fav's movies are hollow. I could tell that much from just seeing the trailer for Iron Man. The Rocketeer will be a better movie than Iron Man. The one saving grace of Iron Man is Robert Downey Jr.

That news ticker, that ran along the bottom? Yeah, slightly more interesting. Perhaps because I'm English and get irony and sarcasm in a better, more subtle kind of way, but that shit stunk like week old cow shit.
