If I had known that Wonder Con would turn into such a big deal, I would be up in San Francisco right now. But I'm here in Studio City, missing out on all the fun. Thankfully Peter from Slashfilm is up there, and he's come across an interesting thing in the con program: an ad featuring the Ghostbusters symbol that says 'SOMETHING EXCITING IS COMING TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD! Look for the big announcement at Comic Con San Diego 2008.' It's from Sony Home Entertainment.

Peter is speculating that this could be an announcement of an animated DTDVD Ghostbusters 3, which Dan Aykroyd talked about on some Canadian country music station a year ago. I believe that this Ghostbusters 3 - which has all of Manhattan becoming hell - has turned into the Ghostbusters video game, so I'm hoping that we're being spared a CGI return of the jumpsuited spook chasers. What's more likely is that this is a major Ghostbusters Blu-Ray announcement, although I can't for the life of me imagine why it would be exciting enough to tease months in advance.
