Enjoy what will be probably the only trailer for this movie that acknowledges its basic premise.
LIKE GOD'S VAGINA: THE RED BAND PINEAPPLE EXPRESS TRAILER
So here's the problem with selling Pineapple Express: you can't talk about weed in the advertising, and weed is from whence the film's title and plot comes. This is a pretty great movie, but stupid puritanical restrictions on what you can show in ads and trailers may hide the film's greatness from the masses.
Which is why we're lucky to have somebody leak a red band trailer for the movie to YouTube. This is a wonderful trailer that, I think, nicely captures the movie's tone (although it can't really capture the chemistry between Seth Rogen and James Franco in such a short time span) and action. Yes, this is an action movie (old fashioned style) from the Apatow camp. And yes, this is a hilarious comedy coming from super-serious indie auteur David Gordon Green.
