If you are in search for a reason to hate film then look no further then Click, a film in production that bears the distinction of not only being one of the dumbest high concept stories of all time but also the most implausible. Click is a western at the end of the civil war. A group of outlaws want to rob the town bank. A cattle baron, a bounty hunter, and a female sheriff cause trouble...who gives a shit? What is important is David Carradine is set to star which baffles the hell out of me. Carradine is apparently looking to follow the Robert Forster mold of acting in a high profile Tarantino picture, getting nominated for various awards for said role, and then going back to acting in films that hate you.
Oh well, so much for your comeback Carradine. Wait, was he ever even here?
Click is to be written and directed by Jean-Claude La Marre who has brought us such films as Go For Broke, Gang of Roses, and some other “urban” films that play on racial stereotypes. La Marre seems to have a love for casting people with misspelled words for names in westerns and Click is no exception: Kurupt (apparently he is a rapper) will join David Carradine, Glenn Plummer, Clifton Powell, and Raymond Cruz.
I guess the good news is that once you finish reading this story you will probably never hear about this movie again. Unless of course the DVD gets sent to CHUD for review and some poor sap on our review team is forced to watch it and worse, actually think and write about it.
