We’ve covered The Master– I hope you know what’s up, because this teaser isn’t going to tell you. It evokes There Will Be Blood for sure, and simply lets a rather uncomfortable conversation unspool as a ticking, uncomfortable strain of music portends very, very uncomfortable events to unfold. No glimpse of Hoffman, but looks like Joaquin Phoenix’s real return to the big screen is going to be… declarative. Singular perhaps. He looks unlike himself in large parts of this trailer.
