I don’t know that Simon West’s sequel to Stallone’s Expendables is any better than the poorly-shot, often dull, but vaguely amusing first film, but goddamn if it doesn’t seem better in just about every way. The humor (for the most part*) sounds better, the filmmaking looks cleaner, the sets looks more interesting and varied, the action sharper, the stakes more appropriately over-the-top, the line-up seems more well tuned, and with mini-Thor involved even the age range looks like it might make for a better dynamic. I’m actively excited for this now, which is more than I ever could have said for its predecessor.
I’m glad Terry Crews was so adamant about watching this trailer for its IGN debut.
