New Year’s Eve, Garry Marshall’s next, which IMDb currently lists as “filming”, just nabbed a couple of new stars: Jon Bon Jovi and Seth Myers. They join an already star-studded cast (which includes the likes of Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara) in a film that “tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year’s Eve.”
Bon Jovi plays a rock star who, after having dumped Halle Berry’s character, runs into her again at a party and Seth Myers steps up to play Jessica Biel’s husband (what?) who wants their baby to be the first delivery of the year so that he can win a prize.
So yeah. When I first read the synopsis I immediately thought of Paris Je T’Aime, which has a similar structure. Then I saw Garry Marshall’s name and immediately thought of The Other Sister. So…yeah.
