Because he had so much fun making the excellent The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Brad Pitt is re-teaming with his director from that western beauty, Andrew Dominik.
Together they plan to make Cogan’s Trade, a comedy/crime drama about an investigator who’s called in to suss out a heist going down during a mob-protected poker game. It’s based on the 1974 novel by George V. Higgins which was set in Boston, and Dominik and Pitt are hoping to bring in fellow Jesse James cast members Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell. Also on the rumor list are Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo, and if they can get all of these guys then they might have something special on their hands.
Nothing is set in stone as the project is currently being shopped around the American Film Market this week, so hopefully it’ll materialize as that’s too good of a cast to not have this thing happen.
