Director Duncan Jones’ first feature, Moon, was met so rapturously that his follow-up, Mute, is already being slavered over, despite not having a single frame shot or major role cast. No pressure, Duncan!
The film shoots next year in Berlin, and the image above is the first bit of pre-production concept art we’ve seen. Jones has compared this film to Blade Runner in terms of tone and the world he’s creating, and I think comparison is quite evident in the art above. That’s a spinner floating above the street!
Mute is set in a near-future Berlin where a mute bartender is searching for his girlfriend. This film actually takes place in the same universe as Moon, and Sam Rockwell will be making a cameo appearance.
The image comes from Liberty Films, Mute‘s production company. Keep an eye on their page for any updates. Thanks to io9 for the tip off.
