Joseph Kahn (director of the love-hated Torque and Detention) has made the most silly-serious and mock po-faced ode to the millennial child’s perpetual action franchise: Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
As is usual with Kahn, POWER/RANGERS rides that thin line between self-serious and self parody. It’s colorful, violent, gritty, perfectly grimdark, dumb, but somehow knowing. Here’s how Kahn recommends you watch it:
